Spiegel & McDiarmid LLP is pleased to announce that Rebecca J. Baldwin has become Of Counsel to the firm.
Rebecca’s practice focuses on energy regulation, electric reliability, and hydroelectric licensing. She advises municipal and cooperative electric utilities, trade associations and other public-interest entities in matters involving the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (“NERC”) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and represents clients before those agencies and in federal courts. She has been deeply involved in the development of NERC’s procedures and in defining the scope of its authority. Rebecca has co-written briefs before several United States courts of appeals and has authored articles on hydropower licensing issues and made presentations at national energy conferences on NERC compliance and electric reliability.
A graduate of Columbia Law School, Rebecca has been with Spiegel & McDiarmid since 2005. She is admitted to the bars of the District of Columbia and the State of Maryland and had been named a 2014 and 2015 Super Lawyers “Rising Star.” You can read more about Rebecca’s practice and background here.
