Spiegel & McDiarmid LLP’s Paralegal Program is an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates who seek to experience law firm life and gain hands-on experience. During the first several weeks of employment, paralegals receive substantive, on-the-job training in the areas of cite-checking, legal research, attending/reporting on regulatory meetings, assisting in the preparation of briefs and pleadings, assembling case documents and assisting in discovery and trial preparation.
We seek candidates with a BA/BS Degree and excellent academic credentials, strong analytical and writing skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimal supervision. Two-year commitment preferred.

Talia Shadroui – Talia joined the firm in 2023 after graduating from Johns Hopkins University, where she received a B.A. in Environmental Studies and International Studies. During her time in college, she was the Editor in Chief of the Hopkins Undergraduate Law Review and Junior Class President of the Hopkins Student Government Association. She brings experience from internships at the Environmental Law Institute and the Chesapeake Climate Action Network.

Sophia Silis – Sophia joined the firm in 2023 after graduating from Virginia Tech, where she received a B.S. in psychology and sociology and a minor in Science, Technology, & Law. During her time as an undergraduate, Sophia served as President of the Mozaiko Living Learning Community, was a Criminal Division Intern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the EDVA, and engaged in multiple research initiatives. On her favorite research project, “Sustaining Wild Harvesting Economies in Central Appalachia,” Sophia worked on an interdisciplinary team to resolve inequities in the herbal supply chain and presented project findings to the Congressional Appalachian Regional Commission.
