ENERGY/LITIGATION ASSOCIATE

Spiegel & McDiarmid LLP seeks a mid-level associate with at least three years of energy law or other relevant experience to join its Energy Practice Group.

We are a Washington, DC based law firm specializing in representing public sector and public interest clients.  Firm clients include states, municipalities, consumer advocates, government agencies, and labor unions.  Our work involves issues affecting the nation’s critical infrastructure industries, including in energy, telecommunications and transportation.  Most of our engagements involve litigation or potential litigation, and we often find ourselves in venues that range from state utility commission hearings to the United States Supreme Court (and every forum in between).

We offer opportunities both to perform first-class legal work representing the public and consumer side of important policy and legal issues and to assume substantive responsibilities from the outset.  If you have solid academic credentials, a demonstrated mastery of written and oral communications, and a desire to devote your legal talents to the pursuit of the public interest, we would very much like to meet you.

Spiegel offers competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package, including Metro accessible offices in downtown DC.

To apply, submit your cover letter, resume, transcripts and a writing sample to:
