EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Spiegel & McDiarmid LLP is recruiting for an Executive Director to handle the day-to-day operations of the firm. Manages and oversees the firm’s business functions in all areas of administration, finance, facilities, human resources, information systems and marketing including compliance with all regulations and requirements and meeting the goals and objectives of the firm. Advises the Firm Management Committee and Partnership on business and management issues and implements decisions made. 

Master’s Degree in business, administration, or related field with at least seven to ten years’ experience in a law firm or professional services environment. Experience in performing tasks in each of the major areas of responsibility. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of regulations related to federal/state/local tax law, human resources regulations and general employment laws. Member of ALA, SHRM-CP, LMA, ILTA and other professional organizations a plus (certification preferred). Proficient with all Microsoft Office Suite products, with strong Excel skills. 

 

ENERGY/LITIGATION ASSOCIATE

Spiegel & McDiarmid LLP seeks an attorney with 3-5 years energy experience for its litigation/regulatory, and transactional practices representing states, local governments, municipalities, and cooperatively owned electric and natural gas utilities.  Ideal candidates will have superb writing skills, excellent academic credentials, intellectual inquisitiveness and a desire to use their legal talents to advance the public interest. The firm offers opportunities to assume substantive responsibilities from the outset while working in a positive, collaborative environment.
