Overview
Emma Bast joined Spiegel & McDiarmid in the fall of 2019 after graduating from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a member of the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law and the Georgetown Barrister’s Council ADR Team.
During law school, Emma was a Cavers Legal Intern at the Conservation Law Foundation New Hampshire. There, she worked to help staff counsel prepare for oral hearings opposing construction of an international energy transmission project, and researched and drafted memoranda on state energy policy. She was also a member of the Georgetown Civil Litigation Clinic, where she worked on a team to successfully appeal a D.C. District Court decision denying the client’s Freedom of Information Act request.
