LEGAL EXPERIENCE:

Ms. Meiser handles energy cases for municipalities and joint action agencies, primarily before FERC. Much of her litigation experience is in high stakes, technical, and complex multi-party cases.

REPRESENTATIVE CASES:

Represented a joint action agency in cases arising out of the Western market dysfunction in 2000-2001, including the California refund proceeding, the Pacific Northwest refund proceeding, and the Enron investigation.

Litigated several cases regarding the treatment of grandfathered transmission contracts in a restructured marketplace.

Trains clients on compliance with market related laws and regulations.

Helps clients with contractual and other arrangements related to the development and operation of renewable resources.

OTHER:

Ms. Meiser returned to Spiegel & McDiarmid in 2001, after an eight-year hiatus. During that time, Ms. Meiser worked primarily in the Southwestern United States on strategic planning and community and economic development issues for governmental, tribal, and non-profit clients.
